Paul Quie
Paul Quie is Regent’s Professor Emeritus of Pediatrics for the
University of Minnesota Medical School. He is also Co-Director of the
International Medical Education and Research Program. He received his
undergraduate degree from St. Olaf College and his MD degree from Yale
University. He joined the faculty of the University of Minnesota
Pediatrics Department in 1958 and holds joint appointments in the
departments of Pediatrics, Laboratory Medicine-Pathology and Microbiology.
He was past President of the American Pediatric Society and the Infectious
Diseases Society of America. He currently serves on the Board of the
Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. His laboratory research has
centered on host defenses against infectious diseases with emphasis on the
phagocytic system.
