Jan Malcolm
Jan Malcolm is the Minnesota Commissioner of Health. She was appointed by Governor Jesse Ventura in 1999. Prior to being appointed Commissioner, Jan was Vice President for Public Affairs at Allina Health System. She has held a variety of senior administrative positions in several health care organizations including HealthPartners, PARTNERS National Health Plans of Dallas, Texas and MedCenters Health Plan. In her prior positions in the private sector, she was responsible for health policy analysis, government relations, government programs and public relations. Jan currently serves on the board of the United Way of Minneapolis and the Minnesota Partnership for Action Against Tobacco. She earned her bachelor’s degree in philosophy and psychology from Dartmouth College.
